We have lots of puppies -- mothers were dumped on my property -- that are seeking a new home. Will be fairly large dogs. Akita/hound mix. They are 8 weeks old. Eating, drinking, playing. Healthy. Males and females. Solids, and black and white. Either PM or send email. Do not have the resources to post pics on internet but do have pics via cell phone.

bump. These puppies need homes. I hate to have to have them euthanized.

Just a helpful thought... maybe you should post some links to pics and give a little more info about them like what breed type the dogs are.
Good luck!

Never a good thing to announce on an internet message board....one of my biggest pet peeves...if you don't take them, I 'll have no choice but to take them to the pound. If these are your adult dogs...these are your puppies and you do need to be responsible and find them homes, not kill them. This is exactly why you should spay and neuter your pets.

It may be one of your biggest pet peeves but sometimes help is needed to place animals. Sometimes there is more to the story than what is said on the board. Maybe someone has a suggestion of where else I might try. Yes, in the normal course of events if you own the adult dogs it is your responsibility. No argument. I'm a big supporter of having dogs spayed/neutered.

Actually OP stated in first post the pups are hound/akita mix and that the moms were dumped on her property. If they are cute and healthy I would try to take them to fairs, flea markets, etc. If they are truly part akita you may be able to find an akita rescue? I would also google for non kill rescues that may be able to assist. The idiot who dumped these poor dogs is the one who should be getting dumped on.

I have contacted every rescue/humane society that I could find within a 150 mile radius of home. Not one of them had any openings and most didn't expect to have any openings in the near future. I have a fairly large farm in a rural area of the county. I have had animals dumped before and even a couple of horses over the last few years. It's very difficult & heartbreaking. Unfortunately caring for these animals take dollars that I simply don't have. I don't want to turn this into a bashing thread.

the problem is if you put free pups in the paper you run the real risk of them ending up in dog fighting rings. people pose as families but they are not.

You can also spread the word to your area veterinarians. Most I know would allow you to post a flyer. Sometimes clients ask us to keep an ear out for possible dogs for them. Since it sounds like these will be large dogs, perhaps well suited to farm life, you might see if the area feed and tack stores will allow you to post a flyer.
