By round-about link surfing this morning I ran across this local news item.

I thought it might provide a quick smile, (perhaps with a shake of the head at the multiple 9-1-1 calls apparently generated).

If you prefer a sad commentary on the widening disconnection between Americans and the realities of nature, read the comments. (There is a slightly shiny spot on my desk where I sometimes feel the need to beat my head...)

I live very close to where this happened. I would have thought that they would have attempted to rehab this baby fox. I'm disappointed and saddened to hear this.

What happened to quarantining the fox, and then sending it on to a wildlife rehab/sanctuary? :no: Asshats. :mad:

I thought you meant something like the actual Wintec saddle i saw on one of the kiddie ridesat a local Wal-Mart. REAL saddle, with billets and stirrup bars and everything, with the WINTEC prominently displayed, bolted onto a plastic purple warthog, or some such beast. :eek:

Geez. I was graduated from UF, right there in Gainesville. I really, really would have expected a different outcome. Yuck.
