"Lui" is a 3 yr old TB gelding approx 17hh. He is super sweet and needs a good home with experienced riders to re-train him into anything they desire. He was in training to be a steeplechase horse but suffered an injury wile in the field that has ended his racing career. He has a few small torn fibers(but no holes) in his tendon and needs approx 90 days in the stall and several months on field rest before returning to any sort of work. I have had him scanned and x-ray-ed and the vet cleared him to do anything from hunter/jumpers, to fox hunting, or eventing, once his tendon has healed.

Lui is super sweet but very immature and needs some time to finish growing and filling out into an even more beautiful horse, and this lay-up should give him that opportunity. He has a long low profile with a long neck and a nice shoulder which suits him very well as a working hunter or event horse. Hes got an incredible movement with a lovely flowing trot and canter, on top of that he is like a Cadillac to sit on. His canter stride is huge and he has alot of suspension and scope. He is an amazing jumper with great instincts, a beautiful arc over the fences, and has never jumped 'green' even when he first learned how. he never races over jumps, only got to school once or twice so he doesn't have any idea what running and jumping is all about so there is no rushing or flatness to his jump. He has had alot of ring work with gymnastics and trot polls, he knows his leads and is just a lovely horse.

Despite what your first impressions might be if you meet him now(because he has been confined to a stall for the past 3 weeks), he is actually very quiet to ride, I always took him out on my own, he doesn't care about much and is very easy going, which is why it made him a perfect steeplechaser. he will jump pretty much anything and is very honest. he does go through streams(although if he thinks he can, he will try to jump it) and swims in ponds, he is a super sweet boy and I wish i didn't have to give him up because he tries so hard, but I cant afford to keep a lay-up that wont race again :( . He must go ASAP, and as I said, after his lay-up he will be ready to do anything but race. If you are interrested, I would be more than willing to have my vet talk to you about his injuries, or have her talk to your vet about what she thinks. He needs to find a home ASAP. Please, experienced owners/trainers only. I want him to have the best chance possible to make a complete recovery and be re-trained into something amazing because he is such a lovely and talented young horse, people with ex-race horse re-training experience preferred. Wile I do need him gone I will not send him into an unsuitable situation. Thanks! Just email me at babyblucloud9@comcast.net for anything else..pictures available!
