What can I do about spiders in the tack room?? I took everything out of there, cleaned it, and got rid of all the webs. Within a week, they are back. My tack room sits between 2 stalls. Is there anything I can put/use in there to get rid of the spiders that won't harm the horses?? I HATE walking through spider webs (creepy!) and really don't care to get bit. Thanks!

I would be inclined to dust with either Sevin dust or Diatomaceous earth

There's a spray called Cobweb Eliminator that's supposed to prevent the return of spiders and webs.

And it is safe to use around horses? If I can spray, I will be THRILLED!!

We are having a spider invasion as well. I am going to try to use a few of these remedies..... I have used the chestnuts before (in my house) with seemingly good results...

We have an invasion of spiders at our barn too. Will probably knock down all the webs tomorrow during chores - but I hate too, especially after I counted 6 flies caught in one web the other day.

There are commercial natural horse fly sprays that have the ingredients listed on the website as being spider-cidal.

I use a household bomb, they come in packs if 3 I think. I can't stand spiders and bugs anywhere including the tack room.

Vacume. That way you can get the egg sacks (which is what produces the volumes of new spiders). I have seen spiders get knocked down with their egg sacks, and they grab them up and scuttle away with them!! I can only assume they set them up somewhere again and eventually the suckers hatch.
I vacume all the webs, the spiders (chase them down) and the egg sacks. Eventually, you find your population is severely curtailed. I wouldn't hesitate to spray, after I vacumed alot of them away.
**problem is, I can't open up the vacume to empty it. Have to get someone else to do it. I also make sure it gets emptied either into a dumpster which will be taken away soon, or out in the woods. **
