UPDATE: Looks like the ad has been deleted.

I do NOT know the owner or the horse. This is just something I ran across on VirginiaEquestrian and figured I'd pass it on:

"BB Charm is a 15.3 hand 7 year old Thoroughbred gelding. Has been out of racing for a year. Ridden a few times in July and was ok. Needs a nice show home, cute mover. Owner forfeited, must go asap!"

Here's the listing for contact info, etc.:

Thanks for letting me know. I'm assuming the ad has been deleted as I just now went back to virginiaequestrian and couldn't find it. Hopefully either the owner reclaimed him or he found a good home!

He was on Canter months and months ago ...Maybe even closer to a year. I saw him and feel In LOVE. This guy is GORGEOUS, The only thing that detered me was he had a big knee, although this issue could of been resolved. He was also referred to as "Spunky" umm so take that as you will

CanTango1 - interesting! The original ad (link I posted) put him at a farm in VA (that, incidentally, has a lot of high-dollar horses for sale).

I wonder if the owner who "forfeited" him was the one who got him from CANTER? Oh well, guess we'll never know. Hopefully he's in good hands, wherever he is now.

i know the farm owner personally. what does incidently they have high dollar horses for sale have to do with anything?

if she said the owner forfeited him then that is what happened. probably boarded him there and dumped him. i'm sure he didn't get taken to auction if the farm owner had any say in it.

Im pretty sure Liberty just ment that he had to be a nice horse if he ended up there. Some one with a good eye saw some potential ( at least thats what I got out of it )... I would take it as a compliment !!

Well, nothing really, which is why I said "incidentally", but it does indicate (to me anyway) that chances are it's a nice, responsible facility that takes good care of the horses.

So, "forfeited" to you means "dumped"? There are a number of life happenings that could result in someone becoming unable to afford his/her horse. At least the former owner didn't dump him at an auction.

While I do not know the farm owner, I doubt s/he would have taken this horse to an auction. However, any time a horse changes hands, there's always the possibility it could end up in a bad place. That's all I was saying about hoping he was in good hands now, as he appeared to be at the farm trying to find him a home.

No big deal; no harm done. I was just passing along the info in case anyone here was looking for a nice horse, which is what he sounded like.

Yes, that's it (in a lot less words than my response...)

Thanks!
