I live in Hawaii & am looking for black PVC 4x4 fence posts so I can use the Centaur fencing in black so it doesn't show as much as the white does. I can't use wood b/c of the horrible ground termites here. Thanks

To my knowledge centaur cannot go on anything but wood posts unless you're talking about the coated wire. Regular pvc posts would have nowhere near the strength to hold just tension. So, forgive my ignorance, but you can't use wood in hawaii??? Are all of the houses steel built? Just never heard of this...

Are there some wood posts that have a treatment on them so the termites can't get through? I know they make some treatments, cresote I think, though I suppose that is more for rotting. We have Centaur fencing and I did ask them about using recycled plastic posts, I'd have to doublecheck my notes but I think they said that they used to sell them but they too expensive to ship, so they stopped selling them. I think they were okay for the line posts but not corners/gates. You could ask Centaur. We have black also, it does blend in nicely and I painted all the wood posts black as well.

You might be able to do it with sleeves over T-posts, but I'm not sure I've ever found black t-post sleeves, only brown, green, and white.

Standard PVC fencing posts are not strong enough for a high tension fence like Centaur.

You can also look at LifeTimeLumber: http://www.lifetimelumber.com/
I have no personal experience, but it looks like a good, albeit expensive, product. Probably even more expensive shipped to Hawaii.

What about concrete posts, particularly for your corner posts, then use something much less beefy for line posts? Concrete can be dyed to be a dark color.

We have the black recycled plastic posts with Centaur/Ramm fencing, they rock!!!! No chewing, no painting and the nails are still tight unlike the other wood posts we have.
