I happened to take some pictures of someone introducing a young TB to water for the first time tonight. The horse was really good...he just didn't understand at first. And then when he went into water, it was very much like watching Tigger bounce through - a big leap, land on all 4 feet in the water, and then sprong! Straight back up in the air again. After tigger-bouncing his way through a couple of times, he finished up with ho-hum trotting through, an old pro already. :) The pictures are kind of cracking me up, so I thought I'd share.
So, here is the sequence.
He wouldn't go in with a lead, so he eventually got his feet wet by
First going parallel to the water... (http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8326/0026on.jpg)
Then a big leap in! (http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6490/0029kd.jpg)
A Tigger Bounce (http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7209/0030.jpg)
And out. Whew! (http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/3406/0031xq.jpg)
