Hello there,
I am a volunteer working with Best Friends (www.bestfriends.org) and several local groups of rescuers across multiple states in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. We are currently working on several rescued cases relating to feral/outdoor cats.
Half of these cases are from prior caretakers losing their homes due to the current economic down turn and leaving their animals behind to fence for themselves. The other half of the cases are from inhabitable situation, such as changing ownership of property and the new owner gave a firm deadline of removal or death, condo management decided to ban cats on property, etc.
If Best Friends and these local rescuers/volunteers cannot find new homes (horse stable or farm) for these cats, they will be sent to local animal shelters and face a certain death. In some cases, exterminators will be bought in to poison these cats which would be an horrible death. These cats have been abused and dumped on the street throughout the years. They deserve to have a 2nd chance of life.
These cats would be great companions and mousers for your barn (especially in the winter time when mice are the most active). All of them are healthy and spayed/neutered. Transportation will be provided for them.
If your barn cannot take any of these cats, please help us get the word out and/or providing us with other potential leads. Besides horse barns as potential homes, we are also looking for farms and greenhouse/plant nurseries for these cats.
Please help us to help these defenseless cats. All these cats have had a very hard life and they all deserve to have the right to live.
Thanks and Regards,
Wilma
