A friend of mine wants to purchase tickets for the Show Jumping at the WEG. On Saturday, October 9th (evening) there is something called "The Final Four". Would someone please explain what "The Final Four" is?

If I'm not wrong it's the four finalists that have to ride a short course on each others horse. They don't have much time in the warm up ring and they can only jump a limited amount of times to get to know each mount.
Many riders do not agree with this (Conrad Homfeld once said in Aachen "after so much work and effort you reach the last phase which is thrown up to the Gods..."). It does show how much of an equestrian you are by being able to "catch ride" a 5ft course, but everybody knows to be succesful at that level you need years of solid partnership.
Even so, it is very entertaining and dramatic when you see how each talented rider copes and "makes do" with very talented horses which they don't get to test ride that much.
I'm buying the tickets for WEG (the whole jumping series) and would surely recommend you see that.
See you there! ;)

Correct - in the last round, the top four riders first ride the course on their own horses, and then ride each of the other 3 horses around the course also.

I always think the best prize is the one given for the top horse - ie, the one that is most successful with ALL the riders...
