Hello everyone- I have a bunch of vet bills and I can not afford to keep my rescue/project mare. Her name is Sophie. 15.3 hands, 11 years old, easy keeper who is happy to live outside. She will crib if you bring her into a stall, but not badly enough for me to buy her a collar, which would probably take care of it. She has been for sale, but no interest from anyone who I would feel comfortable selling her to, and I would rather give her away to a trusted COTHer than sell her for the 650 I paid and have her in a situation that might not work out. Here's a conformation shot:

and a video of her jumping:

and her pedigree:

The thing with her is she's not a beginner's horse. She's brave out on trails, but she is your typical hot, moody TB mare. She walks and trots great and I think most people with a clue could do that with her. She works into the bridle fine, she steers, she goes out on trails, I can ride her bareback with leadropes etc. Once you bring the canter into the equation though, she's quick and difficult. She doesn't show a ton of jumping talent as a hunter, she might make a jumper or foxhunter. She goes over the fences, she's brave and bold, but she does hang a leg. This very well could change once the canter is put together more. She has previously been a broodmare and there are videos of her filly, Exony, at www.youtube.com/hilltopfarmva She is sound as can be, only gets front shoes. Please let me know if you have any questions. She's in no danger, in great shape, I'll keep her until I find a good place for her. Mostly I want to know she is in a good place.

Orange, I'm going to look at several racing Arabians up in MD this weekend, but I have a young lady in mind who might be the perfect match for your mare.

Claire is 13 y/o, and quite possibly one of the best riders I've ever seen. She's an absolute natural, and rides better than I ever have. Much as it pains me to admit that!

She rides for my trainer, but the horses are always being sold or leased out from under her, and it breaks her heart. Her parents would like for her to have her OWN horse, but can't afford a big purchase price.

Where in VA are you located? I'm just outside of Appomattox, and Claire's family lives in Lynchburg.

I'm in Keswick, just outside of Charlottesville, so not far at all. Please pass along my contact information- my email is gracetw22@hotmail.com and my phone number is 757-705-9936 I don't think Sophie will ever be a world beater, but I was just saying the other day that I would have killed to have her at 13.

Just wanted to add, in case someone is considering her as a broodie, that I've met her filly, Exony-- gorgeous mare, and cute mover from what I remember. I saw her at Hilltop when I bought my little welsh mare there.:)

Hope the 13 y.o. works out for her!
