2 year old colt Saudade by Sir Donnerhall /Pik Immer, Owner Mary Garfield. Possible stallion candidate.

Anne Crowell, who is a Stubben saddle fitter, donated gift baskets to the high score mare, colt and filly. Winners were Rhythm ‘n Blues, Distinguished Gentleman, Dark Star Spirit. Dark Star Spirit was the high score filly. Distinguished Gentlemen was the high score colt and high score foal for the inspection.

As a personal note, I remember when Rhythm ‘n Blues had her foal inspection in 2004. Her breeder, Joan Fleck, consistently brought so many quality foals every year. I believe that this mare was high score filly in 2004. I know Talloaks will correct me if I am wrong.

Yes IronwoodFarm, you have an excellent memory. Joan Flecks mare who won the 110 high scoring mare of the inspection was the highest scoring filly foal in 2004 and her scores at that time were 8.5 for type and conformation, 8.2 for movement, 8.4 for overall impression for a final score of 8.4 . Yes she was the Champion Filly in 2004.

Also at the inspection this year we had a conformation clinic with Dr Christian Schacth which went into a saddle fitting demonstration with Anne Crowell from Stubben Saddles.

The gift baskets from Anne and Stubben Saddles were a hit!!

I thought this might be of interest to breeders, the highest scoring filly was by Dacaprio and out of a TB mare. The highest scoring colt was by
Donnarweiss GGF and out of an Arabian mare!! The filly's score was 8.2 for type and conformation, 8.4 for movement, 8.0 for overall impression for a final score of 8.2. His score was 8.2 for type and conformation, 8.6 for movement, 8.3 for overall impression for a final score of 8.4. Interesting how both of these foals had impressive movement scores. What does this say for TB and Arabian mares???
