Here in NH, we have an evening show called NH Chronicle.
Last night they did an episode on New England Equine, a internal and surgical equine veterinarian clinic.
It is a great resource and extremely caring and knowledgable vets and staff.
Thought some of you might like to watch the surgery!

Thank you! I was there yesterday with Jazzy, having a MASSSSSSSSSSSSSIVE melanoma/abcess lanced. Maybe a good thing the tv crew wasn't there for that!:eek: It really is the very coolest hospital. Glad they got some good publicity, they deserve it.

I saw that - it was a cool episode. My DH thought they overdid the "everything is so BIG" aspect. Well, Duh....
That seemed like a giant chip out of that stifle.
I wonder how Rochester and Tufts felt about it. At one point they said something about the biggest or only horse hospital in New England.
It is the newest, for sure, but is it really bigger than Tufts?

I have been to tufts, rec, now myhre, and nee.
Nee is certainly the newest. Plus, I'd go anywhere Jackie Bartol DVM is...I think she is the absolute best internist, plus brings it down to explain it to you on human levels. She also loves to research and learn, and I like that and want that in a vet. She has 'advised' me many times, and I trust her advice and opinion.
As far as Mike DavisDVM, he too is a super surgeon.
I am not as familiar with the other staff, but having observed them and worked with them a little, they also seem to be of the same caliber.
I think Tufts is the largest, but I had a very bad experience there, and would never go back. I know people who have gone and loved it. My experience was human based, and imo, could have been handled much better. I just got a big hospital feel there, where no one is totally accountable.
One thing I like about NEE...and other private clinics...how they treat you and their patient(the horse) is very important. Their knowledge and skills are also critical, but I also want to know they care and take things personally.
I hate to have to go, since you go because of some problem, but I know my horse is in the best of hands, and I will be treated with respect and as a partner and advocate for my horse. They really encourage it.
In fact, Dr. Davis once told me, when I questioned him about my being too involved with trying to figure out what was wrong with my mare...his response was, "you are your horse's advocate, and I welcome any information you can discover', its your horse". I almost fell over backwards, since the local vets for the most part get very agitated if you try and learn the latest treatments, etc for an issue.
Can you tell I hold them in the highest regard. And, I am a pretty critical person by nature, not too much impresses me.
As far as the video, I was impressed with how much they did on the surgery. I would have liked it if they showed MRI's or some other stuff.
I did like how they video'd the horse in recovery after anestesia. That vet tech is super. She is really quite good at what she does. Wow.
