View Full Version : Serra Valley Farms schooling horse trial??

I was wondering if anyone on here could help clarify something for me. On the MCTA calendar, there is a schooling HT at Serra Valley Farms in Mt. Airy scheduled for November 15th, but on the Serra Valley website it is listed as a jumper schooling show.
I have tried to email Serra Valley for clarification with no success.
I would love to attend this if it is indeed a horse trial, but I need to know now so I can plan for it.
Anyone know?

Can't help you, as it seems like you're getting the same kind of response to your questions as I am for the combined test this weekend (which is none). I called today, after emailing earlier in the week...still waiting for a response.

I can try to answer these questions. (I schedule their events.)
November 15th was going to be a schooling HTs, but has been changed to a jumper show (in the heated indoor if needed)
YB ... what did you need to know?

Why does the farm have a For Sale By Owner sign out front, does anyone know?

I heard the owner is tired of the business, but will likely not sell for a while until the right buyer comes along :)

Got it figured out!
Turns out during some construction, phones lines, etc got ripped out, which may explain why I wasn't getting responses to my emails.

Does anyone know who the photographer was for the combined test on Sunday? I showed my Yearling in the FEH, and wanted to see if the photographer got any good photos of him. Thanks.

They had a show there this past weekend so perhaps they were busy. I had a little difficulty getting questions answered at first also about that show (FEH) but the folks were super nice and helpful onsite.......so perhaps they have been super busy.

The photographer was Lynn Hoffman of Lynn's Designs. I know she's working hard to get the photos up.

Pics are up!
Ha. We had a really rough trip to the SV FEH with rain and a flat tire and the kid cut his head on the trailer. We arrived just as they were doing the 2 YO class so the colt (2 YO/second time on a trailer or off the farm) literally had the bridle thrown on his head in the trailer and was run from the trailer to the ring.....no time to settle in, look at anything or even get the trailer poop stain off his leg. He was moderately tense but all things considered he behaved like a trooper (didn't do anything stupid......). I have to laugh at the confo shot though...the joys of young uns. Only 2 weeks ago (first show/first time on a trailer) he had a nice level topline. SV is only 2 weeks later and he is butt high already. What a difference only 2 weeks can make!!

trot is not TOOO bad considering the next pic....he at least managed a level trot though not "uphill" from his uphill behind.......

Wow Camohn sounds like you had a very rough trip down. I remember seeing your boy go, he was very well behaved.
I was happy to see the photographer got some good photos of my yearling. Especially considering like your 2 year old Camohn, his butt shot up right before the show.

I owned his sire...whose worst growth spurt uglies were at 3.......so I doubt we are out of the woods yet!! He was actually a little less nervous than his first show in spite of the bad trip and being rushed off of the trailer.....so a few more trips and he should be doing well nerves wise. I remember his sires first 2 shows at 2.....he was a HANDFUL! But by show number 5 he was an old pro.
