I am pretty sure my horse is having allergy issues and when I moved her she is now eating round bale hay that the barn owner said has dust in it, but none of her horses have a problem with it, but apparently mine does. She is fine usually until I start riding her then it sounds like she is going to cough up her lung. She coughs up some clear flem. She wont eat that supplement called "cough free" so what else could I use? Preferrably on the cheaper side...

FWIW-you may want to check with a vet. Our guy developed a similar cough, and its early stages of COPD. He is now on Trihist (cheap in comparison to some solutions) twice a day. I think it costs my boarder about $30 a month. We also wet (not soak) his hay. His cough is almost 100% gone.
We did use Cough Free without much relief.
Have you checked out SmartBreathe from Smartpak? Looks good....
Also, I think it's Springtime that sells Spirulina (sp?) for horses. This is also suppose to be good for coughs/allergies.

Get vet out, just in case. My guy developed a cough last week. Coughed 3 times last Wednesday and didn't hear it again until Monday (just after eating). He coughed some yesterday, vet came out today - diagnosed URI. Best to catch it quickly.
You hope it's allergies, but better to be safe than sorry.

COPD is....
"Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease that resembles human asthma. The condition is also known as heaves, recurrent airway obstruction, broken wind, emphysema, chronic bronchitis or small airway disease."
