There are several VERY nice Pik Solo offspring in the dressage barn I work at. Is he still alive? Breeding? I guess I should probably know, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Pardon my ignorance!

I can't answer those specific questions definitively (I think the answers are 'no'), but my friend has a rising 3yo by him that is AWESOME. http://www.irishhillsfarm.com/pikprinz.html. "Rocky" is the easiest going temperament and has been very lightly started (w/t around the arena a few times) by a 12 year old! I'd snap a Pik Solo foal up in a heart beat..

Pik Solo was owned by Lilo Fore. He was a very nice dressage stallion with lovely gaits. He died several years ago. I don't know if there is any frozen semen from him but I believe not, at least I have never heard of any or seen any recent offspring. It would be nice if I was wrong, I always wanted to breed a mare to him.

The former Celle stallion Fisherman's Friend (by Fabriano) is out of a Pik Solo/Libanon mare. He's in Australia now, I believe.

Paarfolken lists a '87 model "Pikoer" as having been liscensed in the US... and I think he's deceased now. The only other son that shows up is another '87 - "PIK PAVAROTTI". He has an '01 licensed son named Decameron (Donnerhall x Pik Pavarotti) but then we're really starting to get away from Pik Solo...

There were two stallions named Pik Solo.

The Oldenburg Pik Solo was a 1982 model by Pik Bube I / Marlon xx / Chronist. He was the sire of Pikoer, who was approved in the U.S. for Oldenburg breeding (stood in North Carolina, owned by Pat Belskie).

Lilo Fore's Pik Solo was a 1976 Hanoverian by Pik Koenig / Dunkel / Domspatz. I believe the licensed stallion Palladium was by the Hanoverian Pik Solo.

I have a 2001 Pik Solo gelding, "Pazzaro" (Pik Solo x First Gotthard). He is a bit mischievious  but is an otherwise lovely horse with 3 wonderful gaits :) "Private Dancer" is a 1999 approved Pik Solo son - http://www.internationalequestrianstables.com/page.asp?pageid=48

I have a mare by Lilo's Pik Solo named Phaedra who is 90 days in foal to Bravo. Also, Bravo bred 2 other Pik Solo (Lilo's Pik Solo) mares Paragon and Phina. All are confirmed in foal and they'll all be going to Fairwind Farm GOV inspection next year in Santa Rosa, Ca. I can't wait to see this match. Phaedra is out of my mare Faunja, by First Class, and Faunja has had the site champion by Bravo 2 years in a row. This will be Phaedra's first baby by Bravo.

I don't think Lilo has any more Pik Solo semen but I can find out. I have a horse in training at her barn.

I have a Pik Solo grandson at stud - Presidio (Palladium - Wodka). He looks a lot like his grandsire though is a lighter framed model. His offspring are doing well in dressage (Prescription was just the Third Level Champion for the Oregon Dressage Society, Northwest Dressage, and Zone 6, Patronus won his first show with a 74.4% in T-4 - the second time he had been off the farm). He also has a couple coming up in jumpers. Good minds, good elasticity and a quick hind leg.

The first time I was a working student for Lilo, Pik Solo was still alive, although long retired. I would groom him every day and turn him out/bring him in, etc. Such an incredibly lovely disposition. And although he was already quite old at the time, he would often play in his paddock each morning when I turned him out, and he was still super athletic and a beautiful mover. The offspring are often a bit too smart for their own good, but VERY talented. There isn't any more semen, but there are some good Pik Solo daughters and grandaughters out there.

Eliza - I have a Pik Solo mare bred by Lilo. Her name is Pik's Pandora out of Glueckskind. I've been able to learn a bit about Glueckskind, but very little about her progeny. Through the AHS, I found out that she had 8 foals for Lilo, Pandora being her last. I know of two sisters, EM Pirouette and Pik Sonata. Would you know more about Glueckskind and her kids? Thanks!

I have a foal due out of my EMC Donnabella by Sinatra Song who will be doubled up on Pik Koenig. This foal will have Pik Bube II on it's sire's dam line and his full sister Pirola on the dam's sire line. I am really excited for this foal, really great old bloodlines with some moderness via Sandro Hit.
