I just bought a pair of old Buffalo Sabres logo patches for a couple of bucks. I'm going to sew them onto a blue and gold baby pad to ride with Sabres pride this hockey season. d;

If you were an Ottawa or Toronto fan I'd be much sassier back, but instead I'll simply take you up on that--and when we make it to playoffs I might show off that saddle pad anyway, hunt classes or not. d;

Of course, the big difference was I didn't NEED either of those things. I can never find a bargain when I NEED something!

Just got a really 600D waterproof blanket, brand new, for my guy for $30 ($44 with shipping costs). Was a little concerned about the quality at that price but when it arrived I was very, very impressed. Now mind you this is for the horse that never needed a blanket when we lived in MI and he was on pasture board. Have pictures of him in sub-zero winds with 4" of snow on his back looking snug as a bug in a rug. Moved down to SC 6 years ago and he has apparently turned into a cold weather whimp because last year when it dropped below freezing and snowed he needed a blanket. The only blanket I had was the one I bought shortly after I bought him 12 years ago and it was a little small, hence the need for a new one. I guess thier blood thins just like ours does, I know if I went back up to MI in the winter now I would do nothing except sit by the heat vent with it cranked to about 80 and I used to clean stalls up there in Jan/Feb in a sweatshirt.
Also just got stemware racks for $20 for a set of 10 (priced at Lowes and Home Depot - they wanted $50 for a set of 4).

And the one that got away is still the really neat silver bridle I found, and didn't need, and didn't get and have never been able to find again.

I hate when that happens. You find something you REALLY want, decide to not buy it.. then you can NEVER find it again. :dead:

I just found a older, but really nicely taken care of Beval bridle for $18. It didn't flatter my horse's head like I thought it would (poor clunky noggin) so I resold it for $35. Probably could have asked more. The wannabe english girl who bought it kept telling me she'd never heard of the brand, and wondering if it would fit her 17.4 hand saddlebred. :rolleyes:

There's a small thrift shop about 10 min. away from my office that I like to hit up once a week or so on my lunch hour. I often get great stuff there as its in an upscale area... I've gotten Polo shirts for like $4. Yesterday, I ventured in on my lunch hour and saw a BRAND NEW Kerrits ventilator shirt for $4 (of course I had to get it) and also found a new leather picture frame with a metal snaffle bit on it for $3.:) I was so happy to find horsey things, since I typically don't. I also picked up a brand new pair of Levi's for hubby for $4 and a Land's End fleece shirt for $4 for me to wear to the barn this winter, as well as a $5 towel stand/rack thingy that I'm going to use in the barn for saddle pads and blankets.
I was PO'd because they had a new looking Lacoste polo for $4 but it was too small for me... dang it!!!:lol:
I loff to bargain shop!

Just bought a brand new weatherbeeta fly sheet for $9 yesterday. The pink "pony sized" one. I bought the same sheet for the pony earlier this summer for $45 retail. I was psyched to pick up a "back-up" for a whopping $9.00.
I have an Orican t/o sheet that will end later today. Currently at $30. No last minute bidders please :D

I found a like-new, wool Beval therapeutic pad (the ones that go for $160 new) for $5 at a horse thrift shop. They had items stacked to the ceiling there and since most of it was Western stuff I don't think they realized what they had.

You might save money with horseloverz/Equiteric, but they're customer service is HORRENDOUS. I will NEVER buy from them, ever.
Every single transaction I've had with them has gone bad. The first time I bought from them, I got a set of 3 nylon halters. THEY had my address wrong, I TOLD THEM IT WAS WRONG, but they shipped it anyways. Big surprise, it got lost in the mail!
Their response? "Well you didn't get insurance so there's nothing we can do". Yes, it was clearly my fault! :mad:
They finally arrived over a month later. Absolutely ridiculous. And the creepy service rep that stalks people on COTH when they complain about the company is just the icing on the cake.

I got a bunch of bargins at a local Equine exhange sale...
Stubben Seigfried saddle-$50.00! Needed slight stitching repair that cost me $20.
Kerrit full seat breeches, brand new with tags, brown- $15.00
Herm Sprenger Stirrups-$10.00
Rambo Mid weight sheet-$40.00, new in bag
I bought a bunch of other stuff too but everything was a huge bargin. I volunteered at the sale and people donated a bunch of amazing stuff to local horse rescues that will be for sale at the next sale so I cannot wait. Herm Sprenger bits, Mylar bits, Vogel boots, Stubben saddle, Rambo blankets...

I've never had a problem with them. I was actually shocked this last time how quickly all my stuff got here.
