hahah nice to see you back Polydor. I have a list of what we are doing workday incase anyone wants to bring tools LOL

new tin on stalls, right over top of the old tin. Have all eqt for that job.
cut up windfall, Mr. Choco, bring chainsaw.
Repair two strands of fencing, no biggie but hard on my own to put and hammer.
Two vents in portable stalls. Need sawsall for the job.

Tarp over new tractor parking spot cause Heart stole the other shed for herself again. And she needs the entire carport she says.

Straighten up a few matts that require a bit of gravel under them.

Not to terribly much but so important work. I have tons and tons of soda, hotdogs, hamburgers, potato chips etc etc. thanks to the cancellation of our fundraiser. So maybe a bit of potato salad or chili and we are good for the groceries.

I can hardly wait. yahooo.

ChocoMare

Oy...please, enough rain already. I checked Wunderground and it shows 30% chance of showers, soooo who knows how much that'll change between now and then. Hmph

Yep, I've been checking wunderground for several days now. We need to keep our fingers crossed that the rain gets in here on Friday and doesn't drag on into Saturday.

Cool I talked to Courtney today but she said nothing about coming out this weekend. We KNOW what kind of a worker she is LOL. Cant wait to see her again and give her a power hug.

NO RAIN. Every single event has been cancelled for rain. Not this one LOL. Rain friday, not saturday.

To say it was productive was an understatement. We got absolutely every single thing on the list and more done. Three stalls in the front barn got new floors and matts thanks to Erin and fiance Larry. Mr. Chocomare put in the new vents in the portable stalls and that for me was one of the biggest bonuses. Chocomare and Courtney did all the fence repairs.

Bird and Britt emptied the buildings and put everything in separate piles so it became an organized chaos finally. A lot of this remained since the days of the fire and for one person, was just a daunting experience. All tools are now in one shed. I can find a grooming and first aid kit in all barns and buildings now.

All the blankets were brought out, sheets and masks put away. We got more done than I dreampt possible cause I really didnt think we could get it all done.

And, Jack, dear Jack of All Trades, he gave a lovely lady of 83 years her dream to once more ride a TB. hahah I even noticed she was holding the reins on her own at the end. She threatened to never get off LOL.

It was a great great day. I am so appreciative of all of you. From the bottom of my heart, thankyou. I could never have accomplished what you guys did as a team.

It was a great day! Dummy me, though, forgot her camera

Courtney and I repaired 3 sections of downed wire fence and then walked about 15 acres of the remaining fence line, tightening as we went and removing hazards (including a very old water line pipe that was pointy & sharp! It is now safely bent to the ground outside the fenceline ;). We were also able to restore a long run of electric fence that runs parallel to the creek....can't have the old girls down there!

Bird and Brittney realllly did a FAB job of cleaning out both sheds. There was so much stuff everywhere! Lotsa old stuff thrown out that truly needed to go and plenty of other supplies were boxed or put in tubs to split between the 3 sheds/2 barns.

We were also able to donate some cool stuff to the kids at the Daylily Program, where many of Lori's horses go to work with children. One little girl lovingly gave a monetary donation to Lori just so she could go home with Rt66Kix's home-made HOT CHILI PEPPER saddle pad! You should have seen her face just light up! :)

The burgers, hot dogs and other luncheon goodies were terrific! Brittney's brownies were to die for :D

Glad Courtney was there to play Roof Monkey. Alas, while my man and Larry were quite able-bodied, neither does heights! Soooo, up the ladder she went with the cordless driver in hand to secure the tin. Yay! No more leaking roof!!!

We pulled out at about 3:45. Took only 10 minutes for Courtney's snoring to commence in the back seat  We all slept VERY well that night, sore bodies and all.
