Like Fantasy football for horse owners.
With this economic situation, I have so many friends who are not breeding, but who are drooling over some boys out there.
If your not breeding, but if you had the room/money (that is what is keeping you from doing so), who would you breed to?

If I had money.....I would still have a tough choice ;) One mare and way too many fab stallions :)
I would breed my mare to any of the following.
A Fine Romance
Touch Tone
Ironrule
Formula One
Winmaur (sp?) Sargent Pepper
And after watching that video....Banderas  But I am not sure I could stay on that

I'm just ga-ga-goo-goo over Redwine:

Can you say "perfection"? He's just my cup of tea!
Now - since this is Fantasy Football for the Equestrians.....I'd really want the right mare to breed him to, of course :) Wouldn't breed Fancy to him.

:DI am in love with Eurocommerce Berlin. We tried to breed to him this year and the dealer sold her last couple doses the day before I called. They tried to get it but mt mare went into heat and we used Diarado. I am thinking of not breeding one of my mares next year and just pay the money to breed just him next year. He has movement, scope and great personality plus he will add size to my mare. The stud fee went up again but I think with the economy you have to breed the best if you are going to breed at all. Beside if I couldnt sell him or her I would have a great prospect for myself.

Well you have EXCELLENT taste! We should hang out! It's scary I am so crazy about hypothetical breedings. I have a future breeding list that has 37 stallions on it, all assigned with point values on linebreeding with my mare, color, performance, conformation, etc!
And yes Alison123, both Sandro Boy and Rubinstein's frozen semen is no good. But I was going with the "if price was no concern" and would use them with ICSI. I have a friend at CSU, see their description for ICSI: http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/bms/erl/erl_info.htm

I actually heard that about Berlin as well. Know a number of people who have tried it unsuccessfully and have heard it is even not that great over in Europe for fresh. Not sure how reliable, but even though I like him, I wouldn't skip your other breeding with the intent of breeding only one mare and getting a Berlin. Would be great if you did though! :)

Dream stallion? Don Gregory But his frozen is reportedly useless.
Dream stallion#2? Don Primero
Does anyone know of a pregnancy achieved via frozen in the US by Don Primero?

Not I, the stud fee is such a small portion of the equation. I could probably manage to budget in a stud fee, but I can not afford another horse, and everyone I have at the moment is a keeper  And my mare, I love her, I'm very pleased with the one daughter I have out of her, but she's one of those super-sensitive not for everyone kind of rides, so I wouldn't breed her with the intent to sell any of her offspring.

You know if money really was no object I'd buy three mares: Lominka the dam of Totilas. I hear she's back in foal to Gribaldi again so a 2 for 1 deal would be sweet. :D
The second mare would be Sebora, dam of Boston who has now been graded into 3 stud books and is being trained at Isabell Werth's yard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6GwS0ljDMo&feature=channel_page
And finally I'd like Isar VI, Imperio's dam.
Is that being greedy?

I would breed to Diamond Hit, Don Schufuro or Sandro Hit, yes I like that line. Diamond Hit would be my first choice, and some day, he will be. I have a fabulous mare, but she is 18, so I'd be a little concerned about trying frozen with her.

My mare is Mythic Feronia (see undersaddle (http://annsrats.com/horses/feronia/july23_2009/trot.jpg) and in hand (http://annsrats.com/horses/feronia/april2009/indoor4.jpg).)
The stallion is Statesmans Signature (http://aboutsigi.com/). He's done quite well in the sporthorse in hand and suitability classes, against all breeds, and shows 3rd level dressage now. I met him this weekend, and really like him. He and my mare have similar lines but are not so closely related that I'd be worried.
Not that I am planning to breed my mare, but this is a nice "fantasy."

I really like the new stallion, Christ, posted on A-1performancesires. I think i would give him a go if I found just the right mare. But I'd also love another Quaterback baby, especially after all the success I've had with my boy! Oh and the more I look at him, the more I love Ampere!!
