Been down with a bug for a few days and hiding from everyone (especialy the frail old man that is our property owner) and haven't been out to see any of the boys. I decided to send DH up to feed the main herd and head over to the arab farm where I am keeping Benny.
He was so happy to see me and is all cuddly! We worked in the round pen for a bit and then nuzzled (shh, don't tell, I'm known as the mean lady who doesn't cuddle her horses) and gave him his dinner. He dove right in and I headed home.
Two hours later I get a call from my friend, she just finished up taking care of her mare and noticed Benny wasn't eating! He normaly picks away at his hay, but LOVES his pellets! So, I make like a bread truck out to the farm. I find Benny standing staring at me as I pull up. He whinnies at me and nuzzles me as I walk up to him. I immediately check gut; good sounds. HR; check. RR; check. Gums; check. Find fresh manure, looks good. Plus, he is bright and alert. Confused I check his feed, all the grain (yup all 2lbs of it:lol:) is gone from the top of his pellets; but his pellets have soaked up all the water and been mashed around into mush. I offer it to him, turns his nose up. DH says, why not try to see if he wants any strait pellets. Obviously I roll my eyes as there is NO WAY DH knows better than me:lol: ...
And so I offer up a handful and Benny digs right in; with zest. And so I end up dumping several pounds of soaked pellets because he now apparently "doesn't like them". I told him Beggers can't be choosers, but he just lipped the top of my head and went back to his dinner.
Looks like we got a snooty one here :D!!
