I've got a 2.y.o. draft cross that has just been a dream to work with and I CAN'T wait till he's old enough to get going under saddle! I find myself either thinking or saying that on a daily basis!
Anyone else?

I wish my 17 month old "oops" baby will grow up so we can do something with her. I think she will be a pretty little sporthorse but have no idea how big she will get as we have no idea what her daddy was.
Her momma was a New Holland rescue (former Amish cart horse) that no one realized was in foal when Bruce Rotz pulled her off the kill truck for the Saddlebred Rescue group.

I remember when I bred my mare, and it seemed like FOREVER until the foal was born. You would have thought I was having it. The poor mare had to put up with me :)
then she was born, and it was forever til she could do stuff
then I remember the first day I sat on her, she was coming 2.
fast forward to first foxhunt at 4, lots of other things in between.
She will be 7 next year and I am wondering where the time went and when did my baby grow up :)
you guys will do that too, and it will be so worth it. Take your time and don't rush, enjoy now, there are lots of things you can do with them til you start riding. And it will all make your bond stronger and future training easier.
