My first horse, an Arab mare, used to smile for the camera. I kid you not, she'd look like she was saying "cheese"! She'd pull her lips back and expose her front teeth. We thought it was coincidence the first time, but she did it in several other photos throughout her lifetime.

Super cute picture of the baby. My old gelding used to have the same expression when he was dozing in the sun.

I'd be smiling too if I had all of that beautiful grass to nap in. :-)

My baby's registered name is going to be "Smiling Comet" because he always seems to have a smile on his face.
Your pictures shows the same expression that mine always has, thus the name! Too cute!

I love these photos, they made ME smile! Risque has the cutest little smile! And Cataluna's is so funny! You can really see the personality in the horses.
Here are a couple of more smiles. :D

My older mare smiles just like that foal! Trotting on the trail she will often get that soft mouth with upturned corners. It's her favorite thing to do.

Did you notice the baby has a perfect diamond on his nose? Is it still there?
I love the "only two front teeth" stage, they look so big in little mouths.
