I have always heard that dry "spots" under the saddle pad were pressure areas. My horse has large dry areas behind the wither area on both sides that remain dry after riding. I use a wool pad with an Ultra Thinline over it.Could these approx 12" X 5" areas be caused by excessive pressure ?

I was told that dry spots mean that your saddle doesn't properly fit your horse. Have you had your saddle fitted to your horse?

Saddle doesn't fit the horse. Have a saddle fitter come out. When the saddle fits, there won't be any dry areas.
