It snowed here in Colorado today, so this is your PSA that if you need to wash your blankets, get new ones, pull yours out of storage etc., it is not too early to do so. I don't even live in the high country of CO so fall/winter is definitely coming a little earlier than normal. When my weather man said chance of snow this morning I nearly choked on my juice. But it actually did snow. I am frozen. Fun fun....

Send snow here. It's 88 degrees and hot and humid in coastal GA.
I'd love to have to blanket my horse. Instead, I'm washing sweat off of him.

Ditto, we are going to be in the 90's all week, with santa ana winds on the way. Hello fire season. But, Coreene and I did clean our blankets yesterday, so when the temps drop we will be ready!:D

I think I need to report you to the mods as you are using foul four letter words!

I gotta figure out how to KEEP the darn things clean! Shiver has been in a rain sheet all week when she's turned out...and the pretty purpleness is now georgia red clay! *headdesk* So power washing to keep it less caked?

We've got a freeze warning down here in SW Colorado tonight. Predicted lows of 25. Brrrrr!

It was 34 when I was out at the barn blanketing my horse (I am just north of Colorado Springs) so I can well believe that it could get down to 25 tonight.
I'll trade all those with the 88 degree temps right now for the warmth but not the mud and rain...the snow is still melting of course since the ground isn't frozen yet and so we have, at least for Colorado, quite a lot of mud. I am completely not ready for this weather, especially not with the Rocky Mountain Dressage Society Championships at the end of this week...I am just grooming but would prefer not to freeze to death!
And I have no clue how to keep mud off blankets as we don't get much...sorry.

The thought of it being anywhere NEAR freezing this time of the year in totally mind boggling to me! I've lived in SC all my life.. my poor horse sweated so much today he literally soaked every square inch of the pad. We've still got low 80's, high 70's during the day. It starts getting chilly (aka 60's lol) about the end of October at which point ponies get clipped. We've been known to be in shorts on Christmas though... but yes I suppose the blankets need to come out and get cleaned up lol.
I'm supposed to go to Maine in two weeks though.. I guess I should pack "my deep winter clothes" lol.

Colorado weather can be sort of bizarre. It could be 80 again next week :D
