hi, i'm trying to help my tb get his top line back and a few people have recommended tri-amino by uckele. i was wondering if anyone here had tried it and how were your results?

here's a pic from behind:

the first image was taken in june before i got him
the second and third were taken in late july after he'd been on a good diet

here's a pic from the side:

taken in july. you can't tell that he has that horrible of a top line here, but i promise he does :(

he's lunged with side reins now every couple of days, i just figure the amino acides might help.

What's his entire diet? I wouldn't add T-A if the base diet isn't already up to snuff.

Look for jaimebaker's posts on it - she's seen great improvement. I saw nice improvement as well - both our horses were not in work at the time either.

I had some of mine on it and one of them starting urinating more frequently so I took her off it and it went back to normal--guess she was getting enough protein to start with.

he's on nutrena xtn - about 5 1/2 lbs a day

pasture turn out 24/7 (and ALL that boy does is eat)
smart hoof (which has a great amount of copper, zinc, meth, & lysine)
& mirra coat

no fat supps yet, and nothing else as far as amino acids go.

Yes, yes, I WUV the stuff. And I'm almost out:eek: I have my local feedstore that orders quite a bit through Uckele so I just toss my stuff on their order. I need to give them a call.

And my horses STILL haven't been in work since they've been on it (dang rain). I can only imagine the improvement I would see if they were actually worked. My stallion had a pretty good topline already but I have seen a bit of extra muscling develop on the sides of the spine. And his neck started muscling up more. Not really what I was going for but certainly a change since the Tri-Amino. The gelding is the one I saw the most improvement on. Now, it's nothing to say 'OH MY GOSH, can you BELIEVE it???' but it's enough improvement that I noticed and think he looks a helluva lot better.

As soon as it dries out enough to where I'm not shin deep in mud I'm going to take the camera out and get pics. I took photos of every horse I had before I started the Tri-Amino and Lysine. 4 are on the straight Lysine, 2 are on Tri-Amino. I took pics of just standing shots, I took pics of their backbones, withers, etc. I like to get pics before I start supplementing crap/stuff. That way I don't imagine things and can verify a little better if something is working.

I just put my two horses (OTTB & a miniature) on Tri-Amino 2 weeks ago. I should have taken pictures. Both horses aren't in work (sick OTTB and a unless pet mini ;) ) but I swear I think my mini doesn't look as "pot belled" and I think my OTTB has more of a topline. Now it could be my imagination, but we'll see as more time goes on.

wow, that's amazing. i'd love to see pictures :) my boy is in lightttt work (ridden maybe once or twice a week, lunged if he's not ridden) so i wonder what type of results he will have.

what's the shipping like with uckele? everyone says it's outrageous, but i can't figure it out myself from the website because it asks for a credit card before it shows shipping, which i don't want to do before i know lol. if it really is ridiculously expensive, is there anywhere else i can find it?

It's like $11 for 1-3 items I think. So, instead of looking at it like a $18 + ridiculous shipping, just look at it as $30 for almost 2 months worth. Seriously, that might sound silly but if they would just up the price of the Tri-Amino and do free shipping I'd be willing to bet people wouldn't gripe as much (and yes, I'm one that gripes).

Or just buy 2 or 3 of them and figure you're paying $23 or so for two months. It's all how you look at it;) Somebody posted another site not too long ago but the shipping difference was only about $3 less, and at least if you order from Uckele you know you are getting it fresh.

I totally think the supplement is worth it, but as always some horses may not respond the same. I'll try to get some pics sometime this week though I'll be quite embarrassed of the 'before' pics. The gelding looked pregnant. No joke. He wasn't fat anywhere else, no fat pads or anything. Just the giant low sinking belly. My *theory* based on what I've read, is that even though he was getting a certain amount of protein from his pasture, he either A) can't utilize the proteins or amino acids as well as my stallion since they are in the same pasture and the stud didn't look like him or B) whatever he was choosing to eat was lacking in amino acids or was low quality protein. The horse isn't fed hay so it's not 'hay belly' it's 'grass belly'. But on top of the grass belly, he's topline was sinking and he was looking sway backed (and he's only 8 years old). It has lifted quite a bit and he's only been on the Tri-Amino since the middle of July. I wanted to try it based on everyone else on here raving about it. I'm just glad I got those results others had raved about:yes:

lol! i can't wait to see :) my boy looks sway backed at times :/ i can't wait until he develops a top line. it's brutal trying to ride him bareback. but that shipping really isn't as bad as i thought it would be. i'm really considering buying the 5 gallon thing of cocosoya they have, but i bet the freight on that WOULD be outrageous lol.

I think someone said that it was cheaper to buy 5 one gallons or something when you figured in shipping:lol: My feedstore apparently has gone hogwild and has their Cocosoya oil in every available size. And I'm in a little podunk country town...I have a hard time believing folks around here would even feed it but somebody must be for them to be stocking so much of it. I got a sample through Uckele and thought it smelled DELICIOUS. I'm going to put one of my guys on it this winter who sometimes has an issue keeping weight on.

yes, i just requested the sample today :) i wish the feed stores around here carried good stuff. sadly, it's pretty much just feed at our stores lol, no supplements. we have an alright tack store, but it's mainly western, and i only ride english lol.

he looks a bit sway backed here, but it was just the unlevelness of the ground lol.
