My step son and daughter in law live in southern Overland Park Kansas and area interested in getting their young daughter into lessons and then to eventually purchase a horse/pony. I haven't lived in the KS area for 20 years, does anyone know of any good, reliable barns in that area?

PM Quin on this board - she's h/j and knows the area well. I think she rides at Windaway? although they keep the horses at home, they will board for a month at a shot to get indoor access in gearing up for shows.

I moved to this area a little over a year ago. I used to ride H/J but switched to Dressage when I moved here. I have my two horses at Trinity Farm (trinitydressage.com) and have been very happy there and love the care they give the boys. However, there aren't many kids there, so I don't know if it is what you're looking for.

Debbie Morrison (Cherokee Valley Farm) is located in the Leavenworth/Lansing area, which is a very short drive from much of western Johnson County. She does a fair bit of showing at the local levels (NKHA, GPHA) and the rateds, too. They've got some little folk who have ponies.
There are bigger show barns around the area, too. Tom Davenport has a good clientele that shows a lot at the bigger stuff. White Fox Manor is undergoing some major changes, so not sure what is going on there now. Kirin Farms I see at a lot of the bigger shows, as I also do Church Hill Farms. They don't do many local shows. I know Kirin has some nice ponies, too.
