I am doing some marketing and website design in the equine industry and wanted to know what sources of advertising you most frequent when looking for boarding, training, lessons? Or how did you find out about your current boarding barn and/or trainer?

1.A Local Equine Website?
2.Tack Shop/Feed Store Flyers or bulletin boards?
3.Strickly word of mouth?
4.Free Equine related local/regional magazines?
5.The Yellow Pages?
6.On-line advertisement on a national website (i.e. banner ads to your right here on the Chronicle) =>
7. Association recommodations? (like a listing on USEF website)
8. Other (please let me know if it was something other)

Thanks! I appreciate your input!

When I found my barn, I just did a search for "Boarding barns *enter state here*" and I found lists of barns on various websites.

I have always found word of mouth to be most effective with horses - barns, lessons, buying, jobs, extra help.

Word of mouth, COTH, local equine website (e.g., in Virginia, virginiaequestrian.com), and google search using state & relevant phrase ("horse boarding" etc).
There also is a Virginia Horseman's directory (not sure of exact name) that I refer to occasionally; it is sold at tack shops.
