I have been to Harrisburg on a number of occations to watch people mainly H/J showing. Why aren't there any dressage shows there? Or are they and I have missed them?
It is a large venue, easy to get into with trailers, easy to load and unload horses, lots of space for stalls, so anyone have any insights? They already have the pa systems and the like.
Not to mention lots of places to park the trailer while you are there. I think I would like that as a venue.

Good question!?!?! I wonder what the price is to rent it?

I don't know, but as a practical matter, it MIGHT be a 1-ring show, depending on the dimensions & footing of all the rings -- while I haven't looked at USDF show rules recently, I believe there's still a requirement for the number of schooling arenas per show ring, footing to match, how close together the show rings can be, etc. My guess is you could put just 1 show ring in the main arena (two might be too close together), perhaps another elsewhere (equine exhibition hall, for example) - and for a facility of that size, the cost they'd have to charge per ride for just a 1 or 2 ring show would price it out of the market, to cover rental, insurance, judges, etc., etc.
But I'd love for someone to prove me wrong because it is a great venue. Lots of stalls, all indoors - set up for big events - but the number & size of arenas & footing might not support as big of a dressage show as you would need to support the costs of running a show.
And the main arena is very spooky for horses - more so than most indoor show arenas. It's famous for it.
