View Full Version : Opinions wanted on Pariani jumping saddle

Someone wants to trade a Pariani jumping saddle in on a Crosby Centenial saddle my daughter has for sale. I rode in an "old" style Pariani back in the 60's and loved it, but the new ones seem a lot different to me. The Crosby doesn't fit her horse but she does mostly foxhunting now and it looks like the Pariani is a bit flat for that. Input - PLEASE!!!

Which model is it? Do you have a picture? Does it have the knee, thigh, or calf blocks?
I had an eventing/jumping Pariani which kept me very secure (it had a calf block and thigh block with knee pad), but most of what I do now is hack/trailride (slowly) in it, and it wasn't comfortable on my bum. So, I actually switched to a Crosby Equilibrium DSL.

It is the event model with the knee and thigh blocks, but the "butt" part of the saddle looks narrow to me in the pictures taken from above. I'm a Stubben Lowengrin person and like the wider seat. This looks like an "exercise saddle" we use on the race horses!!
