I have a Selle Francais/TB mare who was not registered as a foal in time to get into the Selle Francais book, before I bought her. So I've put off getting her registered into the Canadian Sport Horse Association, for which she is eligible. However, they are running a special right now that makes the registration MUCH more affordable and I'm wondering if there is any benefit to doing so.

Is there any additional value to having her papers issued by an agency rather than being unregistered but also having her breeding certificate? I know any future foals (not really planning to breed her though) would benefit from registration.

Thanks, I'm asking in this forum rather than the breeding forum because I'm aiming her for the small juniors rather than the broodmare band.

bump for the evening crowd.

Anyone? Would you be more or less likely to look at a horse with some sort of registration/papers?

Always register if you can. Makes the horse more valuable should you need to sell her, not to mention can help prove her identity.
