I'm looking for some good references for the N. VA area on places to have custom work done with a "budget", or places online where I can create something at reasonable price, have it come out looking good, and not wait 2 months for it.

I'm looking to have custom saddle pads made with custom piping and a logo, nothing too complex. I would even be interested in buying the colored pads I want and having someone reputable put the trim on and do the embroidery.

I've checked out Dover and Smartpak and various other custom sites and most places are either two generic with not a lot of options to customize, or way too pricey.

Suggestions and advice appreciated!!

Have you called The Clothes Horse? I'm not sure what the current turnaround time is, but their work is excellent.

You just need general sewing skills to add embroidery and piping to a pad, not specialized equine seamstresses. I'd start by checking your yellow pages, you can definitely find someone who can do embroidery and probably someone who could add piping.
