Apparently evil knows no bounds.
It seems on Friday, Columbian guerrillas strapped bombs to two donkeys, sent them out among workers who were trying to eradicate drug crops and blew them up, killing two people (and of course the donkeys), and wounding six others.
I mean, what next?

There is a very interesting article in the September 2009 Smithsonian magazine about donkeys in Morocco. Apparently in Fez, the city has very narrow roads and donkeys are the main mode of transport. Most don't have names. They are equipment, not animals.

It's evil but it strikes me that you're surprised at the depths of depravity and violence.

If that's the case then I don't know why. I'm not convinced at all that using donkeys is a new layer of barberism.

Heck the London Airline Bombers who were British born Muslims and trained in Pakistan were planning to blow up aeroplanes going to Internal British airports, Canada and the United States. This was a suicide plot and the one that led to the extensive additional airport security and rules prohibiting liquids on to flight. Turns out that their plot included Islamic extremist Abdulla Ahmed Ali using his own baby to get the bomb through airport security and onto the flight! I'm thinking if terrorists are prepared to blow themselves up and take their own babies on suicide missions to kill innocent travellers that there's no lower depths of depravity and barberism to sink to.

The use of donkeys by Muslim terrorists to blow up people has been going on for ages. There was even a video of one on one of the news stories a year or 2 ago. I was mortified.

Let's see, we're dealing with people who grow and market poison, have no compunctions about corrupting everybody from the local beat cop to heads of state, and think nothing of walking into a hospical or drug treatment center and killing everybody they can line up against a wall. And some folks are shocked that they would use animals?!?!?!?!

Animals are used all the time in the offense and defense. The Indian Navy is currently training dolphins to attack naval targets (I'd like to see a cite on U.S. efforts that went beyond investigation). Sea Lions have been used by the USN as "underwater guard dogs" in the Middle East. They carry a clamp in their mouth and if they encounter an underwater swimmer they attach the clamp to the leg. It has a rope on it and allows the crew to pull the swimmer to the surface. And, of course, there's always the bomb/drug sniffing dog.

Sorry, folks, but we humans use animals all the time for our purposes. Horses are kept by people for the person's pleasure. Dogs and cats are kept because they make people feel better. What's the difference between keeping a pet and using a working animal?
