This isn't meant to compare or diminish RA at all; I was impressed to pieces with her Woodward. Just thought it was interesting to run into, with so many talking about how great it was for a 3yo filly to get the older males.

I was reading Blood Horse's Top 100 this morning (great bathroom book - nice short chapters ), and ran into the following:

Busher, 3yo filly, won the 1946 Washington Park Handicap at 1 1/4 miles over a field that included Armed, and she was conceding 4 pounds to Armed. Track record of 2:01 4/5. Not her only victory over older males, either.

Champion 3yo filly, champion 3yo of either sex, and Horse of the Year.

A filly giving 4 pounds to Armed - I would have liked to see that race.
