I love her pedigree for eventing, but I would really appreciate any input!

"Tuttmania, bay mare, 15.0 ½ hands, 5 years old. Great mind! This girl impresses as a solid citizen; she’s completely easy to handle, relaxed about her environment and has a bright, curious personality. Her trainer has had her several months and said that she has absolutely no issues and anyone can handle her. To add the icing to the cake, she is a very nice mover with a big overtrack. Should do well in any discipline. Please note, this mare has been pin-fired previously. Just a nice, mellow mare - must see to appreciate!"

It's where long hot needles are stuck into their cannon bones to "make them stronger". If they waited longer to race them it wouldn't be necessary because their bones would already be stronger.

Actually, it's a method used when horses start to buck their shins, in an attempt to keep them from getting worse.
