eek! It didn't come up for me right away but I clicked to browse the saddles and found them - whyyyyyy??? I have far better things to spend that extra few grand on than making my saddle uber patriotic!

I am not patriotic enough to spend $5200 on a saddle that has the colors and stars of the US flag.....

Are these, like, something someone ordered without realizing how incredibly hideous they would be, and then refused to pay for them, or did devoucoux make them as a publicity stunt or fundraiser or something? Surely no one has been riding around in these saddles without being noticed....

I would never... EVER own one. But on a funny note if I was I'd also have a hard time deciding which one to go with... seeing as I have dual citizenship! "Hrrmmm do I want to be British today.. or am I feeling more American?"

Well for a change it isn't a gaudy stars & bars!!! Just a gaudy Union Jack - whew!

Unfortunately, those are not the ugliest saddles ever...(but they certainly are terrible).

I thought the blue and yellow one that Phillip Dutton competed in was hideous...

Ugh, can you imagine trying to wash the blue stains out of your breeches?? And these probably look hideous after the flaps are good and worn out from the calf of your boot. Blurry stars probably turn into giant polka dots.

It says they only made one..... I can understand why. Although I've moved to the dark side, I started in hunters. The hunter in me just died a little more!

But look at the bright side, you would never have to worry about your saddle being stolen. You could leave it out at shows, in the back of your truck at hotels.... I think you would always be safe:)

Wonder if they would consider $1.00 a reasonable offer.... afterall, I could then justify the ugliness by using it to start my youngsters.....
Hey - if the saddle doesn't scare them, then they truly are cut out to be great horses!!!
