I'm looking to get a nicer set of boots to use for stadium (and for our occasional field trips into the H/J world) for one of my boys (largely because his current boots are getting pretty ratty...and we're going to a George Morris clinic, so we need to spiff up our turnout) - and I'm considering the thinline open fronts/ankle boots, Thinline jumper boots/ankle boogs, or the Thinline eventer boots (on the closeout page) - but I was wondering about how the sizing runs.

He's currently wearing a M in woof boots up front and L woof boots behind. He's a big (16.3) TB with a surprising amount of bone...and the world's biggest windpuffs on his L hind (which make the boot fitting thing hard).

Anyone have any experience with whether these styles run big, small, or inbetween? thanks!

My Thinline boots are mediums and are the same size as my Woof. They look smaller (I don't know why), but are the exact same size.

My guys are both bigger than yours and my biggest one has giant windpuffs on both hinds. The thinline boots fit them better than anything I've tried, and I've tried many.

that's good to know - especially since having seen your boys out and about in the past, I can picture how they compare to Huey size-wise.

Which Thinline boots do you use?

I think they are the "sport boots" -- I use them for xc (and sj when back to back) -- in my profile pics both boys are wearing them. I assume I bought the large size (got them at rolex, don't remember, but...), and they don't QUITE close all the way on the outside, but that doesn't seem to matter. They stay put much better than anything else on my big guy (his windpuffs made other boots really not sit properly on those legs, even when big enough) and I really like the way they seem to "mold" to the horses' legs.
