It's really starting to rain now...will they keep the show going?

Rezeptor was lovely (Rosentau x Weltmeyer x Akzent II).

I meant to post this earlier but got slammed with work issues.

Statesman (bred by our very own Ann Kitchel) tied for 5th place in the 4 y/o riding horse preliminary for stallions.

Congrats, Ann! Good luck for the finals on Saturday!

Hi All,
I'm here at the Bundeschampionate and I'm starting to get things up on the Oldenburg website. I have some photos already there, and I'll be getting my video clips up soon.

I also am linking each horse to their class video on Clip My Horse so that you don't have to surf through the German. www.oldenburghorse.com

On Clip My Horse, if you go to the class, and let the video get past the advertisement you can then place your cursor over the video frame. That will bring up the controls and if you click on the fast forward arrows that will allow you to skip through the rides to get to the one you want to see. Keep moving your cursor to the right as you do this.

Fuerst Romacier was spectacular yesterday, but so was Blickpunkt and Rosandro. It should be a heck of a finals!

Statesman had an uncharacteristic spook or two yesterday which is why we think his scores were a little lower than they could be in the final. The weather was awful, and the Reitpferde arena is always tough in that kind of wind.

Sonnenreiter was also really good, and Batida de Coco stole the show in the pony stallion class.

The jumpers are doing well too. Keep checking back!

He is the 2008 3yo Stallion Bundeschampionat winner. Hanoverian stallion from Lissabon. Owned by the belgian farm van de Helle.

I see Imperio got a 10 for his trot in the first round but then made a big mistake with one of the flying changes and reared up, so got a 5.5 for submission (I think thats right). But he won the Consolation final with 8.5. I love that horse

Well, it's a great day so far for Weser-Ems Pony Stallions, but unfortunately, Statesman decided he hates umbrellas.

It was so unlucky because the sun had started to come out, and he came in looking pretty relaxed. However, once they started the test a small shower came down and everyone at once popped the umbrellas and he just couldn't get past it.

It was so windy that one of the large table umbrellas flew over the main tent from the jumping arena. Just nuts. I have to give Lissaro credit there, he stayed incredibly calm throughout it all.

Sonnenreiter looked great in his trot and canter work, but his walk and also a bit of tension from all the umbrellas, etc. brought his overall score down.

Sarkozy was the winner of the day getting 9's for trot, canter, and walk. It's close so it should be interesting this afternoon.

In the Mares and Geldings, Weihegold is in close third and will be in the finals, but I don't think she will be able to get near Preziosa who has an overall total of 55.0 points. Just amazing.

In the Pony Stallion division, Weser-Ems is reigning supreme! Batida de Coco WE is in first and Casino Royal WE is in second.

The six year old finals is about to start. Check back with www.oldenburghorse.com for pictures/videos. They'll be posted by the end of the day.

Hi,
It's Sunday morning. Yesterday was great for the Weser-Ems Pony stallion, Batida de Coco and Casino Royale. You can see the pictures, videos and report at www.oldenburghorse.com.

Kira Wulferding also had a great day getting two medals in both the 4 year old Mares and Geldings and the 6 year old finals!

Sarkozy stands in 3rd after the dressage and jumper phases of the 6 year old Eventers and the Weser-Ems gelding, Cosmos, stands also in third in the 5 & 6year old Eventing Ponies.

This morning the Weser-Ems three year old stallion, Cyrill WE blew the judges away getting a perfect 10 for his trot and a 9.5 for his walk!! Should be a great finals this afternoon.

Gotta run, the 3 year old stallions start soon. It's overcast and only a light breeze today, so hopefully things will be calmer than yesterday.

Oh, and if you are looking for video links to the classes, make sure you know which day the class took place. I organize our News page by date so for instance, if you are looking for the qualifiers for the 5 year old dressage horses that Fuerst Romancier was in, go to the News page and scroll down to "September 3rd". You'll find the link there.

All the links are now up from yesterday.

For the third year in a row she is German National Champion, this time with the Weser-Ems pony stallion Haribo (Halifax x Condor II) in the 5 year old jumper ponies!!

I'll get the links up soon.

Uugh,
I was just working on the final report from Sunday, and went to put up the links to Clip My Horse. When I got to their website I saw that they are now blocking all of the classes. They are only available to "Premium Members" who pay 60 Euro a year. It's all in German, and I don't think they are even set up to take international accounts.

I did video a lot, and I will start editing my own videos, but I couldn't get to the jumper arena, and I missed Haribo and Con Air who won the 6 year old jumpers. I didn't worry too much about trying to get over there becasue I knew Clip My Horse was there. Sorry about that.

Live and learn.

I'll at least get some photos from the other photographers, and write up as much as I can.

Still working on videos, etc. but took a quick break to upload a few pictures to the USEF photo contest. I think I have a good one of Statesman there: http://www.clubequestrian.com/photos/gallerylist.aspx

I saw Ann yesterday afternoon, and she was of course disappointed as was Heiko, but they both know horses well enough to know these things can happen. He's been such a trooper, putting up with sparklers, spotlights, banners, etc. I think we can give him a break for getting scared of about 500 umbrellas popping up at once!

He's such an incredible horse. I don't think I've ever seen a canter like that. Can't wait to see him at the next show. Only problem is that I live here near Luxembourg and that means my 4 year old mare and I will be up against him in the shows, yikes!! Oh well, at least I get to see him. :)

just got back from the Bundeschampionat and what a trip.

I missed Ann but figured she would be a bit dissapointed, although we know that can happend :) we just have horse with character, lol
I saw Statesman and he is really something.

The way I look at it, it is amazing just to be here with a horse! there are what 20 K + horses from each year group born, and to be one of them here!!! there are abseloutly NO room for any mistake or even lesser performance, but that is what it is all about!

I think there are two Sarkozy: the young stallion from PS (Sandro Hit/Weltmeyer) and the 6 year old eventer (Sandro Hit/ and ?) all my papers are in the luggae still, but I saw this horse Saturday jumping and hat to look twize because of the name is the same.

Sincerely Linda

Linda, I know you and Ann are a bit disappointed, but you should feel proud that your boys were there. What a huge achievement, to qualify for the Bundeschampionat, out of the thousands of horses in their age group!

And yes, there are two Sandro Hit stallions named Sarkozy. Both are 2005 models - the one owned by Paul Shockemoehle is a Hanoverian dressage horse out of a Weltmeyer dam, and the other one is an Oldenburg event horse out of a Rubinstein I dam (I believe - have to look that up).
