:eek::eek: WOW the Panda one was very convincing :) .. Anyone who doesn't believe Poodles are the most tolerant and wonderful dogs after seeing this is nuts.:lol::lol::lol: My husband would KILL me if I tried any of those with my Poodle.:lol: But it was very cool!!

OMG! If I tried that with my dog, she'd run right back to the shelter where I got her!

But I do agree that the Panda was the neatest! :D

There actually is a pony clip for large poodles:

This clip was pretty creative:

However the creative clippers for poodles are pretty weird.

The poodle is a forgiving dog - he'll get over it AND produce a new "canvas" in a few weeks time.

Very creative and fun to look at!

I liked the buffalo the best.

I think the buffalo and linebacker clips are something that make the Labs and other water dogs look abslutely fru fru in comparison.

It's the 'poodles are for girls' attitude is what keeps the standard from taking their place in the sporting dog lineup.

Anyone see the 'corded Poodle' shown in a conformation show on television recently?

So cute and creative! I can't decide which one is my favorite though.

OMG, I couldn't tolerate letting my poor poos coat get long enough to do that to him.

We keep him clipped short year-round.

I think the panda and the buffalo are the best followed by the camel.

I wonder how they practice or prepare to do that? Seems like once you actually start on the real dog it would be a one shot deal.

There are quite a few show groomers out there who are ridiculously talented at clipping and scissoring coats. Like an art form actually.
They probably do have some mess ups, but those would be invisible to those of us who only use clippers to clean a dog's look up.
I can't believe what goes into show grooming...it's kinda close to insanity, LOL!
These are probably pro groomers showing off their creative sides.
Now I LOVE Standard poodles...best dog out there IMO...and although these are cool as heck to look at I'd never ever try that with a dog of my own if I had a Poodle now. It would feel bad from me pointing and laughing at it all the time, LOL! However when I did have SPs I used to clip in the occassional mohawk on the top of the head or a pony clip for fun, but the rest was in a standard puppy clip or in the hottest months a velvet clip.

Reminds me of the Lion clip they do to Persian cats:http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:POLhP77nosjA8M:http://addittothelist.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/polo-lion-cut.jpg (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://addittothelist.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/polo-lion-cut.jpg&imgrefurl=http://community.babycenter.com/post/a6269685/ot_shaving_a_cat._seriously.&usg=__8ubvRKd-XTdlkszjvBROUUAmWFg=&h=2304&w=3072&sz=3307&hl=en&start=19&tbnid=POLhP77nosjA8M:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dlion%2Bclip%2Bpersian%2Bcat%26gbv%3D2 %26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D18)

although the Poodles do look happier than this cat

What about the S African dog who wasn't quite convincing enough as a guard-dog, so his owner had someone give the dog a new "do":
