Hi, I was given a nice 3 year old by Ponch out of a mare named Olden Jet. Other than Olden Times, Olympia and Tom Fool her dams breeding doesn't mean much to me. I was wondering if you could shed some light on it for me?

This filly is steel gray and big, like Two Punch. Of course all I see is Two Punch because I know him; I'm wondering what her dam contributed to the picture.
Thanks in advance :)
And anyone else interested in tb pedigree, chime in!

I don't know about Restless Wind but he sired Lasting Wind - those horses could be difficult - once you earned their trust they were great.
I had a Lasting Wind granddaughter. She could be tough but once I got through that she was like "Old Shep"

Thank you. I've only been long lining her and so have met no great challenges yet. She needs some time to mature physically and so I'm bringing her along very slowly.
She has exceptional bone and I know that comes with Ponche's line, but I'm wondering if her dam might have contributed to that also.

Let us not forget--Nijinsky, mean as hell.
Some of the mare lines are very nice. I have a special fondness for Beaver Street, who BTW is the same female line as Miner's Lamp. Street Dancer is a full sister to Native Street, who I also like a lot.
Olden Times is a very important US sport horse line. Relic was heavily used in European sport horse breeding, and there is a horse running at Badminton this year who is sire line Olden Times. There may be more Relics and Olden Times, but I'm just starting to do the research.
Eight Thirty is one of the best show jumping lines the US has produced. He's got quite a few in Dr. Birdsall, and Thorn Apple produced a hunter named Rain Forest who made the books. His sire was by Jester.
Blue Dust is 2nd dam through Battle Smoke of a very famous show hunter named Stocking Stuffer, per Dr. Birdsall. Haze was a foal factory, and her best by far was Tri-Jet, who was a router and ran and won in graded races until he was six. So we know he had stamina and toughness. Had a lot of starts, too, so that would indicate pretty good soundness.
Windy City is the grandsire of two hunters and two GP jumpers in Dr. Birdsall. They are by/out of three different sons/daughters, so that would indicate to me that he could pass on high quality sport horse genetics.
Olympia is wonderful--one of the best. Like most Hyperions he was as good a sport horse sire as race horse sire.
Don't know anything about the very bottom. I do know that the Endeavour in this pedigree is not the one that is special for our purposes. It is, however, absolutely beautiful on paper--in fact, it's almost perfect. In the tail female line, the first name that tickles my memory is Lurline B. Readily had a full brother named Restless Jet who was sent for sire duty to Brazil. He was supposed to be quite decent.

Thank you Vineyridge. She looks like she'll be a nice sports horse in a few years. I hope her breeding comes through for her, except maybe Nijinskiys meaness.
At the moment I just want to put her on the shelf to grow up a bit. She's big boned and tall but was not conditioned well while in race training so needs time to gain weight and slowly develop muscles in the right places. Unfortunately I have all the keepers I can handle so when she a little further along and I find the right situation for her I have to move her along. Hopefully I'll be able to follow her career.
Thanks again, and thanks to SSF and JGHIRETIRE as well.
