Does anyone know of a good saddle fitter in Chester County? I tried to use the search function to find old threads, but was unable to do so. The guy that used to be down the street from me moved a few years ago. Thanks!

Yeah, bummer about Michael leaving. I wish he had notifed ANY of his customers and I would have been tickled pink if he wouldn't have taken off with my saddle cover that he forgot to return and now refuses to return. *sigh* (yes, I know it's only a saddle cover. But it's mine! And he really should send the darn thing back. I sent him a SASE and it's been well over a year!)

In his absence, I have been using Kate Athenas Wilson from Dutchess Saddlery. She is not localed IN Chester County but she will go to the area. She does a super job, is very thorough, and so far hasn't converted any of my property ;)

If you are interested in any Beval products (Butet, Natural, etc.) check out Alicia Brownell from their staff. She has been great to work with for my hard-to-fit horse. See Beval's site and click on saddle fitting.

I have a nice wool flocked crosby I bought from Michael a few years ago. I think it will fit my new horse with a little adjustment. But, its good to know for the future that Beval has an in-house fitter.

vxf111 - do you have contact info for her? Google wasn't helpful.

Thanks for the help!

Jennifer Shinners at Bit of Heaven does a great job with saddle fitting, and will definitely go out to Chester County.

Their website address is:

Here is Kate's website, her contact info is on there...

She's got a lot of detailed info about her saddle fitting and the cost. I found her extremely thorough, honest, and up-front-- no surprises and she didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need.

Julianne Broyles does saddle fitting in PA. She works for CWD but is excellent and so are the saddles. I think her e-mail address is julianne@cwdsellier.com. The saddles are amazing-I would not ride in anything else. My horse as NEVER gone better!

I used Susie Coffey last year and was very happy with her. She's in Maryland, and only comes up once a month or so, so scheduling is a bit difficult. But she was very reasonably priced, and I thought she was very thorough. She doesn't sell saddles. The whole visit took about an hour, she stuffed the saddle for me right there (with beautiful wool), and had me get on a and ride several times through the stuffing process.

Her number is 410-489-3636 - I've only ever gotten voicemail but she does call back.
