I am interested to hear what European stallions you have used to produce hunter prospects, or what European stallion your hunter is by. There is certainly a mass of them near the top of the USEF hunter sires list!

For my contribution, our filly by Abke this year is a very nice type who I think will go on to do well in the hunter ring. She has quite a bit of suspension, but a flat knee and very little hock. I guess we will see how she jumps in the years to come.

I have used Balou du Rouet on a hunter mare and the result is a beautiful hunter in type colt. I have also seen quite a few Balou offspring that could show in the hunter ring.

I just bought some Couleur Rubin and Escudo 1 semen and will be using it on hunter type mares in the future.

I LOVE Corland....my Corland mare screems hunter but I think she also has the scope and power to do the jumpers if we deicded as well. I have seen and worked around several Corland offspring and he consistentley throws incredible form and scope to his offspring.

hmmm I am thinking of who else I have in my tank......

edited to add Rotspon to the list.....

I really like Escudo I and have a fabulous filly by him this year.

I have seen quite a few nice hunters yes by Ruiz Soler (our trainer had Ruiz Soler himself in the barn last year, and he was incredible), Escudo I, Rubin Royal, Contendro, Rotspon, Grand Cru, Fabriano, and I could probably list tons more if I had a frozen semen list in front of me. :)

However, there is becoming a greater and greater selection of really nice hunter-type imported stallions here in the US, so using frozen seems more and more an unnecessary expense to us.

For what it's worth, there have been quite a few by Rubin Royal imported and sold to the hunter market here in Florida.
