Hi, I am new on here, and was just wondering if any of you all have used the Back On Track products. I was considering getting a few of their items for my problem child(love you Winston), but before I did, wanted to find out what people think about them and if they actually help. Any and all input welcome!

Yes, and I love them. I have sheets and use them on my Arab mare who is a bit tight in the back. The warmup time is shorter, and she seems more "ready to go" the minute I hit the saddle.

I have the no bow wraps for my jumpers. I'll put them on for the trailer ride over to HITS to warm up their tendons before I ride and afterwards for support....can't say if they particularly do anything (I'd like to think they do), but no problems so far (touch wood) :-) There was a thread on hear a few months ago about them and someone posted that they had tried them out on their sore shoulder and felt a big difference and definitely the heat (in a good way) So I'm sold!

I'm inclined to think they "do something" too. The first time I put a BOT sheet on my Arab mare, she had a huge, sweaty patch on her left shoulder. It was cool out, and she was just standing in her stall eating hay. No sweat anywhere else.

Then I was having a saddle fit issue, and suspected too much pressure on either side of the withers. Another session in the sheet, and there were 2 sweaty patches the size of baseballs on either side of the withers, where the tree points would go.

I had read that if there was inflammation anywhere, the increased heat would make that area sweat.

Bought a treeless saddle, and after a few rides in that, the sweaty patches never showed up again with the use of the sheet.

I have the BOT pad made with thin line pad sewn on top. I like it.

I feel like this topic comes up... oh, once a week?!

Here are some of the old threads on the topic...

There are probably more, I gave up after 4-5 pages of hits.

FWIW I didn't find that they did anything better/worse than the equivalent non-ceramic product (yes, the wraps reduced puffiness but no more/less than a typical cotton standing wrap. Yes, the horses seemed comfortable after wearing the sheets but no more/less than wearing a cotton stable sheet etc.)

thanks for all the old postings! From what I have been reading, most people seem to love them. So now all I gotta do is convince the hubby that the pony is absolutely desperate for some new things! ;)
Do any of you ever see any of the BOT items on sale anywhere?? I am interested in the mesh sheet, back pad, saddle pad, and no bows. Thanks again!

The only place I have ever seen them at reduced prices have been on the tack of the day website as a daily special. I bought my sheet from there and got a free saddle pad. I do like the stuff very much but I don't think you need all of those things. The mesh sheet can do the job of the back pad. The saddle pad is not a necessity if you use the mesh sheet beforehand but it is nice.

The wraps won't cause problems with too much heat? Peg

I bought a sheet on sale for $125 - it is white, and I got it directly from the BOT website. Apparently they were closing out the white and transitioning to all black. That was well over a year ago though. I haven't seen them on sale anywhere else.

I had a like-new mesh sheet, in the most common size, on eBay recently. No bids?! I've never really seen them "on sale" anywhere, and I paid full price for the one I was selling. I was pretty surprised!

I do a ton of Ebaying, and I've given up completely on selling stuff in the summer months. I don't even try. Wait until the first frost hits the ground, and people go crazy buying sheets and blankets, as that last minute panic hits - oh my god, my horse is going to freeze. In the summer people are so busy - kids not in school, swimming, BBQs, reunions, week long vacations and riding trips, etc... Wait until winter, and stuff sells like crazy because people are stuck inside with nothing to do except surf Ebay.

Adams is having a one-day Back On Track sale on Sept 2 (20% off):

I used Quick Wraps and sometimes the BOT polos this spring on my sprained ankle (looked really goofy!) whenever I was resting/elevating it. I cannot say how it compared to other therapies but it certainly felt nice on my bum ankle and it healed up well.

I don't think that's entirely correct, Alibhai's Alibar. Tomorrow Adams is having a one-day-sale, 20% off IN STOCK items. I have no idea if the BOT stuff is in stock at Adams. I got the email too and agree it was kind of confusing, I had to read it twice. I like Adams a lot (planning on ordering tomorrow) but they rarely have the high-end stuff "in stock" so the percentage off discounts almost never apply. Can't hurt to call and ask, but I wouldn't count on it.

Alibhai's Alibar, I found the email confusing. Not your fault!

I just ordered from Adam's, taking advantage of the 20% off, and they had the mesh sheet and hock boots in stock in the sizes I needed. Yay!

the BOT leg wraps work well. As does the knee brace I use from time to time.

do you guys know what the difference is between the quick leg wraps and the no bows? the picture is kinda confusing on the website, wondering if the quick wraps are being shown with the no bows under them? does anybody want to shed some light on this!

Quick wraps have sewn on velcro so you don't need a standing wrap. No bows are just big puffy rectangle wraps, you need a standing to hold them on.

SHould I have gotten the no bows instead???? I have not used them yet--

I have both because I got the pillow wraps on sale. I prefer no bows to pillow wraps of any brand just because I feel like they are easier to get on smoothly and with the correct amount of tension ie they fit better in my hand. That said, either work well. I am not a fan of quick wraps of any brand.

Love the Back On Track blanket, use it on the mare with the sore back, works wonders.

I agree about the wraps. I've never like quick-wrap pillow style bandages of any brand. They are lumpy and uneven, and seem like you get a lot of pressure right under the velcro straps, but nowhere else.
