I finally made the decision to breed my Holsteiner mare to Carpaccio in 2010. I was wondering if anyone had foals by him and if so any info, pictures etc... would be greatly appreciated.

I think Diana Kilmer had a stallion " Chosen" by Carpacchio - she is in Va
website was

I saw him as a 2 yr old and he was very refined looking - not sure how he looks now that he has gotten older.
Gosh Marie,
I haven't even finished with thinking about 2009 and you already have 2010 planned - very organized!

Hey Elizabeth, I came to see you go but didn't get a chance to speak to you, lol. I went to red barn but you weren't there then actually did see you present and big congrats there!!!!! Saw hubby but was on the run, I had to go. Hope he told you how happy I was for you. Your Wamberto girl did very well at her ISR/Old inspection! Premium and she deserved every bit.

Although I haven't seen Carpaccio himself, I've seen his son Chico's Boy several times and he's very impressive. Chico's Boy was Champion of his 2002 Holstein approval, won both the dressage AND jumping categories and was named "best stallion" at the 2003 30 day test in Schlieckau, and qualified for the Bundeschampionat in Warrendorf. He's sired many top priced foals at various auctions. I bred my Rubinstein mare to him twice and the colts were fabulous. One is now competing in dressage and is winning with huge scores and the younger one is doing really well, having recently been started. Their work ethics and movement are super. What I really like is the strength that he has behind. He certainly speaks well for Carpaccio as a sire. It would probably be important to look at your mare line to see how that blend might work. Good luck!!

I saw Carpaccio when they brought him to Devon a couple of years ago. Really liked him but bred to Cabardino and got a super filly. Love him!

Carpaccio has never been in the US. You must be thinking of a different horse.

I heard he brings the movement and engagement, but needs a big mare.

We bought a 5 y.o. Carpaccio gelding this spring who has a "10" jump and is a "10" mover. He was reasonably priced as he had just been backed and is only 15.2. But my daughter doesn't need a big horse so he works for her. He is gorgeous, has the best temperament and is very easy to train. His dam was a Merano mare.
I'd breed to Carpaccio in a second.

A Carpaccio mother also produced the reserve champion stallion of the Holsteiner approvals a couple years ago. He was Cascari by Cassini I / Carpaccio and was only reserve to Diarado. Alot of the old breeders felt he was even better than Diarado.
As some of the other posters have mentioned.....he does need a big mare.
