I understand that the judges voted the Nokota horses the best behaved in the show last year. :)
There were 5 Nokota horses representing the breed last year. This year 10 Nokota horses are signed up for the class and our first stallion coming from NJ. He has been bred and sired a gorgeous black and white filly. The mare has got to be the most gentle creature on earth and so trusting. I only met him as a yearling and he was also very sweet then.
I remember when they took 3 weanlings for a presentation to tell the Nokota story in the Dixon Oval for the Devon Horse Show. They were so well behaved. The weanling I fostered at my farm was sold and lives in NY and ridden and maybe competed too, not sure what he's doing exactly but they love him. Those people also own a Nokota cross who is my horse's nephew.
