Anyone have a horse colic when started on Marquis? We've had two horses at our barn who have coliced when started on Marquis. One is mine.

EDITED to add:
Chatted with the vet and he thought it was related to slowed motility of the gut due to neurological inflammation when the Marquis is first started.

Also, I keep reading on blogs and message boards that oil is suggested to help Marquis be absorbed, but the research seems to all be associated with Navigator and not Marquis. Dr Reed at Rood and Riddle said in a lecture that oil does NOT help with Marquis absorption.

I have been to the yahoo board for EPM but so many of the messages are off topic it's very hard to find info :-(

Yeah, some of them tolerate the Marquis a little better then others. The ones I have known to colic cleared fine with no after effects...just a sort of upset tummy and it IS powerful stuff.

Somehow...gee...message boards and blogs or Rood and Riddle...Rood and Riddle or message boards and blogs...hmmmmm??????

I'll take Rood and Riddle for 200 Alex.;) And the answer is "who do you trust in diagnosing and treating your horse".

That other stuff we used to use was alot worse.

well, I wasn't sure if there was something more recent, research-wise
