Affordable Dentist CA bay area?

Can any one recommend a dentist that would travel to the San Mateo County coast (near Half Moon Bay).

My two year old has a bit of a hook, front molar (should be out very soon!)

I am at a new barn, and their vet came out to give vaccinations. Said that hook could use a little work, scheduled the appointment. I had the good sense to call the office before hand to get an idea of fees:

Split call = $35 (one other person was going to have work done)
Sedation = $70
Dental = $250

Yikes, $355 for one hook on a tooth that is supposed to fall out on its own in a few months. :eek::eek::eek:

Unfortunately that is WAY beyond my budget right now, and I just read a thread on what most people are paying, and this is WAY out of line.

Even if I do not get this work done now (kinda waiting for the cap to shed), I do what to get with a dentist that has reasonable prices. I CAN NOT pay what this vet wants for a very simple floating.

There is no such thing as bargain dental work.
If the vet has dental training, if he or she will be worth it.
Even a well trained dentist must have the vet there (legally) when the work is done anyway, so the cost goes up because of having both of them there. So You might as well use the vet.

Well I have had horses for 20 years, and now an owner again after leasing for the last 5 years.I have never paid these kind of prices, especially for a tooth that is due to fall out (I am talking about milk teeth).

My old vet was well respected and did not charge nearly as much, but alas he has retired.

Noticed the poll on dental work topped out at 150, this vet starts at 250.

With the 50% pay cut I took this year,$350 is just not in the cards

It seems like there should be some one out there to hand float one milk tooth for less.

I believe Dr Wollenberger is out on the coast, and is usually quite reasonable. I can't imagine any vet charging $250 to pull a cap.
