In my battle against the flies this year, I've stumbled across these:

http://www.horseloverz.com/NEW-LOWER-PRICE-McAlister-Lycra-Fly-Mask-with-Zipper-pr-289122.html

Are they new? Am I just out of the fly mask loop? I'm a die hard Cashel fan, but my boys do tend to rip them off of each other....these zip up.

Anyone tried them? Do they stay on? Do the horses get HOT under that Lycra? Would it be embarrassing to put my gelding in a hot pink one?

interesting........
And the hot pink & lime would sure be easy to find in a pasture!

I do wonder how the zips would hold up - especially to a horsy game of Face Off.

you go first - let us know if they live up to the press ;)

oops - went back & read the reviews - sizing seems to be the biggest issue & I have one ginormous head to fit & one "normal" TB

I bought one for my daughter's pony who can take off any grazing muzzle known to man - even if you duct tape it to his head -let alone a fly mask. The design seemed perfect - close fitting with a zipper. Impervious to pony shenanigans, I thought. I think he was turned out for all of 10 minutes before he got it off and destroyed it. I give up. Pony wins again.

According to the product description on the Schneiders catalog, those masks are only for trail riding, not turnout:
