Totilas is amazing, but I just have a soft spot for a flashy chestnut
Who would have thought that a 77% would only get you 4th place?

I have to say it was very exciting. Tortilas would have won, but for taking a step back after the first halt while EG was picking up his reins.
This is the first time I have seen Tortilas live and have to say he was spectacular. A friend of mine said he must be bionic and I have to agree that he is just a freakish mover - freakish in a good way.
But I don't want to take anything away from Parsival. He was elegant and floated across the arena.

Like the judges stated at the pressconference, "we have to discuss with the FEI if we could give higher scores as a 10 "
Adelinde received 8's, 9's and a few 10's, while Edward received 36x 10's many 9's and 8's but also 2's and 3's .

I know BBs are basically petty banana republics--and if I could dig up any of the famous old posts on "What Happens on a BB" I would do so... They always point out that whatever question is asked/whatever opinion is held, there are 14 people to agree, 12 who categorically say you are a chowderhead, 7 who move to ban the OP, 5 who then change the topic completely, 3 who point out it is not nice to highjack, and so on and so on.
I love this BB because it is is well-run; because there are a few people who actually make interesting comments (which is a few more than many other BBs);because it is a good place to come for news;because it is in my native tongue, English; and of course because there is always some controversy going on.
That said--I am in Theo's camp, as I suppose everyone knows by now, as I am always saying thank you for the videos, etc etc.,
I do so hope that whatever malice, whatever hurt, whatever anger there might be here, everyone will at least acknowledge that having access to videos of the quality that Theo provides is a service ,and that no one tries to ruin this great source of education and entertainment.
I am always hoping for horse sport to become more like other business sports; and of course that means, money to be made out of what goes on in the sport.
So FEI TV fights with clipmyhorse and filmloop and NOS cannot show video outside of Netherlands, and so on and so forth...but here I am going to be totally selfish and say that I hope to always be able to watch Theo's videos.

Couldn't agree with you more Equibrit. Canyonoak I agree it is great to have the videos Theo provides but sadly he acts like a child when people don't agree with everything he says not to mention the TRUTH often escapes his reality. How many 50+ year old men do you know that resort to calling people stupid or idiots:eek: He has his own sandbox now to play in and throw his temper tantrum when people don't bow down to him. It appears both you and Theo think you have all the answers to everything that is wrong with Dressage but I will say you are much nicer about your opinions then your buddy is.

I don't know why it has to be "brown-nosing" to be polite. When someone does something nice, it should just be common courtesy to say 'thanks.' It is not Theo's job to post all these videos. He takes time out of his life to do this for us, and I appreciate it. (and that doesn't mean that you don't need to thank people for helping you when they do their job. Agaiin, its polite to say thank you. Doesn't mean you are 'brown=nosing'. Now if you want to brown-nose, Tell them they are the best, smartest, prettiest, most handsome, etc. person in the world. Now, THAT'S brown-nosing )
And all you guys who fight with Theo are just about as hair=trigger in arguing with others as he is. Pots & kettles - look at each other and look at yourselves.
Some people who come to this board have access to more information than I do. So, I appreciate hearing from ALL of you - I have no access to information other than what I read in the press, and on the web. So, for some odd reason, I enjoy reading what ALL you folks have to say even if I disagree.
I just wish you all could disagree with each other without calling names. And don't say 'he starts it' - all you people prone to arguing are pretty quick to fight with others as well. Although most of the time, I find it somewhat entertaining, at other times, its just tiresome: The same ole folks calling each other the same ole names.
And no, I'm not pointing fingers at specifc people right now, nor am I calling you names. I'm making general observations.

WOW!!! I missed why/when he was banned... yet again... from yet another BB? What did he have to do to piss of the current mods that have supper patience- the ones who resurrected him from multiple Erin's bannings? Shocking!
It seems that he has a talent for picking fights even with some of his supporters. While I enjoyed his videos and reading first hand information/gossip, he always seemed too eager to jump on most posters and start name calling. I'm not sure for how long any self-respecting adult can put up with that, even for the sake of so called "education" ;)
He seems to polarize topics and people. It's a real shame that he lacks a "lighter touch" in his communication style.

good on you Siegi and everyone else that pM'd me...what a bunch of kindergardners....go ride- train a horse and then think how you can enrich your knowledge and experience...frankly it's not hearing about the latest pad or pant that fits the special needs- (that might work fine for the advertisers here-but that's not why I read this board...)
Theo has been instrumental in opening everyone's eyes on what dressage will be/is- by having generous access to his videos...which are btw firstclass. If you can see and know dressage you can learn from those vids and see what is happening and see how the world is changing right now...as witnessed by the recent Europeans- an enormous, HUGE upset in dressage- a whole new world- that is proving that Sjef is right- that his training HAS merit and that the bar has been raised about 18 inches.... or so...LOL!
Grow up everyone that is serious about this sport- even if you or I will never compete internatioally or even nationally- but raise your awareness and your knowledge...and this is what Theo facillitated...(sad this is in the past)...it was showing the path and I guess a lot of you guys out there are not really into this.....how sad and how shocking...to a large degree....

But, the idea that future dressage training will be Sjef-like doesn't exite me at all. I really don't want to warm up in the arena with RK curled up horses as it's seen in Europe. I like that we are behind the ball and RK is not yet all over our local barns and arenas. I like our US judges who are able to score training of dressage horses, not like European judges who concentrate on gaits much more than US judges.
I like to show, but if dressage shows are so strongly moving towards Sjef's training methods and that's what is needed to win now, I don't want to be a part of that, the horse doesn't appear to be a "happy athlete" under Sjef's training... and I'm not sure that he cares either...

First Sabine I give the credit to the breeders...RK did not make Gal's horse the breeders did. Secondly I don't know about you but I don't read this board to see how many people Theo has called stupid or an idiot just because they happen not to agree with his views on every subject. Though I understand that threads take turns, the direction this thread has taken is :dead:
Theo broke the posting rules and was banned by the mods.
Might I humbly suggest to those disagreeing with this decision that they write the mods/COTH editors.
Theo has started his own forum, so those missing his videos and viewpoints can easily obtain access on his forum.
For those who are annoyed that Theo has come back to COTH as an alter.
There is a nice feature called the ignore button.
And, I'm sure if this new alter starts with the rude, personal comments the mods will address the situation.
So, how about Parzival's Kur?
