Hi all, I'm looking for information on Friesian bloodlines and figured you could help me out :)

I'm not ready to buy now but I have started to do my research all ready. I want to be prepared for when I am ready to buy.

I will be looking for a young horse so knowledge of bloodlines is pretty important. If it helps I will be looking for a horse to do dressage and carriage driving with. I realize that both require somewhat different types but I'm more interested in a horse with conformation more suited to riding. At least in some other breeds they are a little more comfortable to ride then the driving types can be.

I like dressage for it's emphasis on training correctly, as such I don't have any high lofty goals of reaching the highest levels of competition. I just want a nice horse who has a good mind and will take me as far as he wants to go. If that is only 2nd level I'm fine with that.

Most important of all though I want a horse with a really good temperament. Horses are supposed to be fun so I want a horse with a good mind. Right now I own a Morgan and am around quite a few others, I love their pocket pony type personality and level headedness. I know Friesians can be the same. Which bloodlines in Friesians emphasize this? Are there certain stallions I should be looking for?

I know I'm being specific and I realize that being specific can be a crapshoot when looking at young ones. But I figure if I have a knowledge of the bloodlines I'm upping my chances and if I don't get exactly what I want I will still be pretty darn happy :)

Also I'm on the East coast and would probably want to purchase at least somewhere around there. Is there any breeders who are really good or anyone I should steer clear from? Feel free to pm me if you are uncomfortable posting in public.
