I just came across a special on ABC featuring the BLM Mustangs that is on right now!

Thanks, that was a well made set of stories.
That prision program has good colt starters, but could use a riding instructor to teach them to ride and train better.
I wish those starting colts would lean NOT to let them buck, teach them to longe a little bit first and to keep a line on them to stop them if they start to try or have them go on so they can't buck.
No need to teach a horse to buck under saddle by letting him practice.
If he is going to buck, someone didn't do the ground work well enough.
I wonder what rate of accidents they have in horses and people?:eek:

I can see how such programs are great for the people involved.
I know that the groups of feral horses we started when I was a young teenager were crucial to understanding horses the rest of my life.
Very different than handling already broke and trained horses, that is the experience most people have with horses.

Working with horses does teach you patience and at the same time, the horses are always there patiently waiting for you.:cool:
