I looked at all of the older posts on this subject and did a lot of googling in the last week. I'm trying to be ahead of the game and get an idea of what is available (getting the horse in 6 months) and onto any wait list potentially. I'm trying to find boarding in the Hunterdon County area (work in Berkeley Heights, live in Edison), that's not a hunter/jumper barn, has an indoor, and is at max 750/month. The other stuff I'm flexible about, I just don't want to end up at a big show barn (we'll be doing dressage). Driving up to an hour from work is fine (and expected- I've been looking at the Whitehouse Station area). If anyone has any suggestions of where to look (or not) let me know. Thanks for your help! :)

look on craigslist...

www.cnj.craigslist.com

www.newjersey.craigslist.com as there have been several listings in the farm and garden section.

check out the news papers as you can sometimes find things in there

www.appclassifieds.com

www.nj.com

also some websites...

www.nj-horse.com
www.newjerseyhorse.com

http://polocenter.com/stable/stableusnj.htm <--lots of boarding places listed

also, try driving around an area that you are interested in, as many farms are not on the internet. Check out your local tack shops as well.

Good luck :)

thanks, i've been on almost all of those sites and did a lot of googling in general. i thought some people on here might be able to give some direction before i start driving around there. i also looked at ads at the tack shops too to see what was posted there.

I think your best bet right now might be to visit Horsemans Outlet and not only look at the advertisement board, but also to ask some of the employees. They often have a good idea of the latest openings and availabilities for boarding, although they may not be UTD on pricing info.

Good luck!

ETA: Went to the Dover store today and they have a nice binder of boarding farms with openings, saw quite a few in your price range etc.
